What *NOT* to Say to a Trans Person

How many trans people do you know? Probably more than you think! Many trans people are willing to answer questions you have, as long as they are asked respectfully. With that being said, trans people do not owe you answers to your questions. If you are trans, I’d be willing to bet that you’ve heard many of the questions and comments in this post. The following are a list of questions and comments that I have heard before, that you should never say to a trans person:

1. Do you have a penis, or a vagina?
2. What do your genitals look like?
3. What bathroom do you use?
4. Are you a boy, or a girl?
5. Have you had *the* surgery?
6. You’re really handsome/beautiful for a trans man/woman!
7. Wow, I could barely tell you were trans!
8. How do you have sex?
9. Do you wear man underwear, or woman underwear?
10. What was your name before you changed it?
11. Hi, *deadname*!
12. Does it really matter if I use the correct name/pronouns for you? I’ve known you for so long!
13. Which way are you transitioning? Like are you trying to be a man, or a woman?
14. Can I see your genitals?
15. You’re disgusting.
16. I don’t agree with the trans people.
17. Ew.
18. You’re going to burn in hell for being a tranny.
19. You’re going to regret transitioning.
20. What you’re doing is unnatural.
21. Do you pee standing up, or sitting down?
22. No one is ever going to want to get with a tranny like you.
23. You’re a disgusting predator and should be either dead or in jail.
24. If you just felt the healing power of Jesus, you would change.
25. No one will ever love you.
